WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team tied a program record for wins in a season with a 21-5 Senior Day victory Saturday over ODAC rival Virginia Wesleyan.
The Hornets (9-2, 4-0 ODAC) celebrated by jumping out to a 16-0 lead over the Marlins (4-7, 1-4). VWUÂ scored its first goal of the game midway through the third quarter.

Tyler Held and Max Myers scored the two opening goals of the contest before senior Chris Baker recorded his 100th career goal at the 6:22 mark with an unassisted tally.
Eight Hornets recorded goals today with Baker and classmate Logan Clingerman leading all scorers with five goals each.Â
Held added four goals and attackers Matt Daniel and Brock DiMauro each found the back of the net twice.Â
Senior face-off specialist, Christian Clement, won seven face-offs and recorded an assist.Â
Attackman Jay Baker fed his twin, Chris Baker, in the third quarter to cap the 16-0 run.Â
Mark Isabelle recorded six saves and picked up his ninth win of the year in the first 45 minutes of action.Â
Senior Isaac Graves recorded two saves in the fourth quarter.Â
Zachary Heiderman scooped up a team-high four groundballs and caused two turnovers.Â
Defenseman Ricky Perez-Macia picked up a groundball and helped the Hornets to 20-of-24 successful clears in the contest.Â

With their fifth win in a row and ninth of the season, the Hornets tie the program record for wins in a season, matching the 2007, 2008, and 2017 squads.
