LEXINGTON, Va. – No. 4 Washington & Lee shook off a slow start to down Shenandoah University, 20-10, Wednesday afternoon in ODAC women's lacrosse action.
Shenandoah (9-5, 4-2 ODAC) scored the initial five goals of the game in shutting the Generals (12-2, 6-0) out for the first quarter.

W&L had an answer though as the second quarter started by scoring four goals in a span of 3:59.
Emily Onorato halted that run with an unassisted tally at 10:25, but the hosts were back into the contest. W&L scored the final two goals of the period to knot the contest at 6-6 by halftime.
Washington & Lee then seized control of the game by scoring eight of the nine third quarter goals, including the last six.
Trailing by seven, 14-7, as the final stanza dawned, SU was able to cut the deficit to six on two occasions before the Generals closed out the game's scoring with a 4-0 run.
Gabriella Raspanti and
Reilly Cisar both had four points on three goals and one assist each with Onorato chipping in three points on a goal and two assists.
W&L outshot SU, 36-15, had a 15-12 edge on groundballs and won 22 of 33 draws.

Shenandoah hosts Virginia Wesleyan Saturday at 4 in ODAC play. It is also Senior Day for the Hornets.
