FOREST, Va. -- The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team has qualified for the ODAC Tournament for the second time in program history and takes on Bridgewater College in a first round match up.

SU finished the regular season with a 9-8 record and won four games of 10 ODAC contests to grab the No. 7 seed in the tourney.

Bridgewater earned the No. 6 seed and home-field advantage after posting a 5-5 conference slate and a 10-7 overall record.

The two teams meet on Monday, May 2 in a 2 p.m. game at the Jopson Athletic Complex on the Bridgewater campus.

LAST MEETING

Shenandoah had a tough schedule in the back half of ODAC play, including two nationally ranked programs in Lynchburg and Washington & Lee.

The Hornets are heading into the tournament on a six-game losing streak but look to end that drought with its first appearance in the tournament since 2017.

During the six-game skid, SU simply ran out of clock at Bridgewater College just 15 days ago, falling 14-13 to the I-81 South rivals.

The visitors rattled off the final four goals of the match but fell just shy of Bridgewater after the two teams battled back and forth through the first three quarters.

APRIL 16 RECAP

With the third quarter winding down and 18 seconds on the clock, the Eagles scored the first of what would prove to be a four-goal run. The rally happened just as Shenandoah pulled within one to make it a 9-8 contest at the 3:33 mark.

The 5-1 scoring run ended with BC having a 14-9 advantage with six minutes left in the contest.

Eddie Ross would score what proved to be the game-winner with 6:05 remaining.

The Hornets would go to work and chip away at the lead, closing out the game on a four-goal run to pull back within one goal of Bridgewater.

Midfielder Jay Baker found the back of the net for three of those final goals. His last goal came with seven seconds remaining in the game.

Baker scored a team-high four goals with one assist for five points.

Tyler Held scored the second goal in the 4-0 run, his third on the day.

The two squads split 100 shots on the afternoon with Shenandoah have a 31-28 advantage for shots on goal.

Bridgewater turned the ball over 20 times with Shenandoah forcing six of them.

BC owned a 44-30 advantage in ground balls and controlled 21 of the 30 opportunities at the faceoff 'x'.

Austin Galler won all nine the the Hornets face-offs and scooped up five ground balls during the action.

Sophomore goalie Mark Isabelle made 14 stops during the first meeting
