FREDERICK, Md. – Host Hood College tallied 42 seconds into sudden victory overtime Tuesday night to rally for a 13-12 non-league men's lacrosse victory over Shenandoah.
Shenandoah (0-2) led, 12-10, following a
Jake Green goal with 1:58 remaining, but the Blazers (1-0) were able to answer back.

Hood scored a pair of man-up goals 29 seconds apart – at 1:57 and again at 1:28 – to force overtime.
In the OT, the hosts won the opening face-off and after advancing into the offensive zone, called time out. Coming out of that TO, the Blazers worked the ball back through 'x' and found a cutter on the back side for the game-winning goal.
The three-goal rally capped a contest with seven ties and six lead changes. Neither team led by more than two goals during the game with the score knotted at 1-1, 2-2, 5-5, 6-6, 8-8, 9-9, and 12-12.
Logan Clingerman and
Zachary Heiderman co-led the Hornets with five points each with Clingerman scoring four goals and one assist and Heiderman dishing out five assists. Green had three goals and
Tyler Held two to round out the multiple-point scorers.
Mark Isabelle had 10 saves.

The Hornets continue this road trip with a 1 p.m. non-league contest Saturday at Widener University.
