CHESTER, Pa. – Host Widener University jumped out to an early five-goal lead on its way to a 13-6 non-league men's lacrosse victory over Shenandoah University Saturday afternoon.
The Pride (1-1) scored the game's initial four goals and six of the first seven to take a commanding 6-1 early lead over SU (0-3).

Widener closed out the first half with a goal 21 seconds before the close of the second quarter.
A pair of
Jake Green goals, off of assists by
Tyler Held at 14:28 and
Matt Daniel at 13:57, brought SU to within four, 9-5, early in the third.
Unfortunately for the Hornets, the Pride scored the final two goals of the third and two of the three fourth period tallies to coast home to the victory. Daniel had Shenandoah's goal during this game-ending run.
Widener outshot SU, 51-31 and had a 40-28 advantage on groundballs while SU won 13 of the game's 22 face-offs.
