WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting St. Mary's of Maryland doubled up host Shenandoah University in the second half Saturday afternoon in an 11-8 non-league men's lacrosse victory.
The Hornets (0-4) and Seahawks (4-2) were tied at 2-2 after one and 5-5 at the break before SMCM pulled away to start the second half.

St. Mary's scored the initial four goals of the second half, including both of the third-quarter tallies, to take a lead it would not relinquish.
Shenandoah had knotted the game at 5-5 thanks to a
Logan Clingerman goal 41 seconds before halftime, but was held off the board until Clingerman scored unassisted 2:59 into the fourth.
Now leading, 9-6, the 'Hawks scored a pair of goals 43 seconds apart in the final five minutes of the contest to seal the victory.
SU scored the game's final two goals, by
Stephen Graham at 1:48 and
Tyler Held at :13, to provide the final margin of victory.
Clingerman led the hosts with three goals and an assist for four points with Graham and Held scoring a goal and an assist each.
SMCM outshot the Hornets, 44-35, had a 36-30 advantage on groundballs and won 15 of 23 faceoffs.
Mark Isabelle made 14 saves for the hosts.
