BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior
Miles Moore officially earned All-America status Saturday with an eighth-place finish in the 200-meter dash at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
Moore becomes the fourth SU athlete to earn indoor All-America honors after posting a 21.85 in the race. He joins current marketing and promotions director
Shamyra Wilkerson '19, '22 (2019), along with
Elijah Morton '20, '22 (2020), and teammate
Tucker Kindig '22, '23 (2023).
Competing in the second heat and running in lane four, Moore finished fourth as Ramapo's Cheickna Traore set a new Division III record with a 20.72 to win his second national championship of the event. He is also the first DIII athlete in history to crack the 21-second barrier in the event.
Moore now transitions to outdoor track & field with that season starting Saturday at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The seven points scored by Moore and Kindig gives the SU men a tie for 33rd at the national championships.
