CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team completed its spring break trip Wednesday by dropping a 15-10 non-league decision to No. 8 Franklin & Marshall.

Shenandoah (4-3) led the Diplomats (4-2) after one, 5-4, and trailed by just three, 9-6, at halftime.

Maddie Re gave SU that one-goal first quarter lead with her goal off of an
Emma Stiffler assist two seconds before the end of the stanza. F&M scored the first three goals of the second, two of which were with a woman-advantage, to take a lead it would not relinquish.
The Hornets kept it close, trailing by just three, 9-6, at the break and by two, 10-8, after
Ainsley Buckner and
Amy Bell scored back-to-back goals early in the third.
The Dips scored two of the final three goals of the third and three of the four fourth quarter goals to provide the final margin.
Stiffler, Buckner, and
Reilly Cisar all had three points with Buckner and Cisar scoring two goals apiece.
Ashley MacFarlane had a season-high 18 saves.
F&M outshot SU, 39-27 and had an 18-10 advantage on groundballs. The Hornets dominated at the draw, winning 22 of 29.
