WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team dominated from wire-to-wire Saturday in a 20-5 ODAC victory over league newcomer Averett.
Shenandoah (4-5, 1-0 ODAC) scored just 45 seconds into the game and never looked back versus the Cougars (2-5, 0-2).

Stephen Graham had that opening goal for SU, scoring unassisted at 14:15, and ignited a seven-goal run that put the Hornets up 7-0 by the time the game was 11 minutes old.
Averett snapped Shenandoah's run with a goal at 3:06, but the Hornets were not finished. Coach
Tim Marshall's club scored the final two goals of the first to take a 9-1 lead after one and seven of eight in the second to extend the lead to 16-2 by halftime.
Eleven different men scored at least point in the first half with Graham,
Matt Daniel, and Zach Heiderman all posting two goals and one assist.
Taylor Wright led the way with three goals.
The second half brought more of the same with Shenandoah scoring four of the five third quarter goals before Averett had the only two goals of the fourth.
Daniel, Heiderman, and
Logan Clingerman ended up with four points apiece with Daniel scoring three goals and one assist and both Heiderman and Clingerman two goals and two assists.
Mark Isabelle and
Jack Dwyer split time in the goal and each had two saves.
Austin Galler, who was 11 of 13 at the faceoff 'x', had a game-high eight groundballs. Austin Forchetti also won 11 faceoffs and had seven groundballs.
SU outshot the Cougars, 47-14, had a 52-20 edge on groundballs and won 22 of 28 faceoffs.
The Hornets also forced Averett into nine failed clears in 19 attempts.
