BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's and women's outdoor track & field teams had another solid day Saturday with a total of 45 personal bests at the Doc Jopson Invitational hosted by Bridgewater College.
The men had 28 personal bests, along with a pair of wins from senior
Miles Moore, while the SU women had 17 PRs and a
Kiara Felston win in the hammer throw on the day.
MEN'S RECAP
Moore won both the 100 meters, 10.72 seconds, and the 200, 21.37 seconds, as the men had a total of 22 top 10 finishes.
Wyatt Newcome was third in the 100 behind Moore with Mikhi Mims making his collegiate track debut by tying for second in the high jump.
Jacob Young placed in the top 10 in three throwing events, highlighted by a sixth in the javelin.
WOMEN'S RECAP
The women had 18 top 10 finishes with
Kiara Felston leading the way by winning the hammer throw at 46.84 meters and finishing fourth in the discus. She also had an 11
th place showing in the shot put.
Jessica Rendfrey backed up Felston in the hammer with a runner-up showing thanks to her 41.48 meter toss.
Kaitlin Measell had a pair of top fives, including a runner-up in the 100 meters.

UP NEXT
The Hornets are back on the track next weekend with a limited group going to the Colonial Relays on Thursday and the majority of the team competing at the Battleground Relays over the weekend. William & Mary hosts the Colonial Relays and Mary Washington the Battleground Relays.
