Tucker Kindig finished fourth Thursday as the Shenandoah University outdoor track & field teams opened the Colonial Relays hosted by the College of William & Mary.
Kindig, the only non-DI collegiate competitor in the competition, had a 53.09 meter throw on his sixth and final attempt to finish fourth in the 10-man invitational event.
The 2022 outdoor All-America in the event, Kindig had a 50.81 meter throw to open the competition before fouling on his next four attempts. His final throw vaulted into fourth and past athletes from George Mason, Bucknell, Manhattan, and host William & Mary.
The hammer throw was the only event contested on day one of the three day meet.
