LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's tennis team dropped a battle of the ODAC Hornets Saturday in a 7-2 loss at the University of Lynchburg.
Shenandoah (1-3, 0-2 ODAC) found itself down, 2-1, following doubles, but used a
Jahveesha Combs singles victory to keep the match close at the start of singles.

Lynchburg (3-3, 2-2) had that 2-1 lead after doubles, but found itself in a match as Combs won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles to keep SU within one at 3-2.
The win was Combs second of the day. She had paired with
Lily Kimble to win, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles.
Unfortunately for Shenandoah, Lynchburg answered back with a straight set win at No. 4 and then a three-set victory at No. 3 to clinch the team point.
Kelly Hudak and
Erin Talko, at Nos. 3 and 6, respectively, extended both of their matches into a third set. Hudak lost, 6-7, 6-2, 2-6 while Talko had a heartbreaker, dropping a 5-7, 7-5, 0-1 (8-10) decision at No. 6.
