FERRUM, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team led wire-to-wire Saturday in a 22-6 ODAC victory at Ferrum College.
Shenandoah (6-6, 1-2 ODAC) scored the game's first three goals before pulling away with a seven-goal run versus the Panthers (4-6, 0-3).

Leading 4-2 after Ferrum scored its second goal midway through the first, SU reeled off seven straight to expand its lead to nine goals, 11-2, by the 10:51 mark of the second.

The Panthers would score three of the game's next four goals only to see Shenandoah sandwich a six-goal run around halftime to lead 18-5 after three.
Coach
Lindsey Lutz' club then scored four of the five fourth period goals to close out the 16-goal victory.
Ainsley Buckner led the way with five goals and two assists for seven points with
Emma Stiffler adding two goals and four assists for six points and Re five goals.
Reilly Cisar also had five points on two goals and three assists.
Ten different women scored at least one point in the game.
SU outshot the Panthers, 36-11, had a 16-15 edge on groundballs and won 20 of the 29 draws.
Jordan Higgins, one of three goalies to play for the Hornets on the day, made one save.

Shenandoah hosts the other set of ODAC Hornets, the University of Lynchburg Hornets, on Friday at 4 p.m. in ODAC action. It is also the program's R.E.D. Alert contest.
