LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Shenandoah University softball team dropped both games of Tuesday afternoon's ODAC doubleheader at Randolph College.
The WildCats (18-10, 6-2 ODAC) defeated the Hornets (8-18, 2-8) 4-0 in game one and 6-0 in the second game.
GAME ONE RECAP
Two runs in the third and sixth innings propelled the WildCats to the 4-0 win in game one.
Randolph's first third of the lineup led them to the win as they hit .500 (5 for 10), had two RBI and were walked twice.
Shenandoah's hits came from the first four batters in its lineup as
Arlene Miller led the pack with two hits.
SU starting pitcher
Kayla Stephenson (5-10) pitched five complete innings, striking out three in the process.
Taylor Smith came in as relief in the sixth for the Hornets.
GAME TWO RECAP
Randolph started game two with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the first. Shenandoah forced three groundouts to retire the batters in order in the second.
RC added two runs each in the third and sixth innings to extend its lead to 6-0.
The Hornets forced three walks in the game with Miller and Smith getting hits off of the WildCats.
Tiffany Bower led the team with six defensive assists and had one sacrifice bunt.
UP NEXT
The Hornets host Averett on Rotary Field this Saturday in an ODAC doubleheader at 1 p.m.
