ASHLAND, Va. – No. 3 Shenandoah University saw No. 6 Randolph-Macon salvage a split of its weekend ODAC baseball series with an 8-7 victory Sunday afternoon.
Macon (26-6, 13-3 ODAC) scored the winning run on three hits in the bottom of the eighth to complete the comeback versus Shenandoah (28-4, 13-3).
IN BRIEF
The Hornets had led 5-2 heading into the seventh thanks to two runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth, but saw the 'Jackets storm back with five runs on four hits and a hit batsmen in the seventh.
SU tied the game at 7-7 with two runs in the eighth, including a
Kyle Lisa leadoff home run, but R-MC got a two-out single to center to score what proved to be the game-winning run.
Shenandoah went in order in the ninth.
Parker Farrington (4-1), the third Hornets pitcher of the day, took the loss. He allowed one run on four hits in 1 1/3 innings of work.
Reilly Owen started and gave up four runs on six hits and one walk against five strikeouts in six innings of work.

Kevin Anderson's club banged out 11 hits in the win with Lisa,
Frankie Ritter,
Tyler Blittersdorf, and
Kooper Anderson all getting two each. Blittersdorf drove in four runs – he had an RBI single in the fifth, a two-run double in the sixth, and a sacrifice fly in the eighth.
Gavin Horning,
Pearce Bucher, and
Ryan Clawson drove in one each with Clawson hitting a solo home run in the sixth.
