WINCHESTER, Va. – The No. 3 Shenandoah University baseball team defeated Washington & Lee University, 14-7, Wednesday afternoon at home in an ODAC game.
With today's victory over the Generals (14-13, 8-9 ODAC), the Hornets (30-4, 14-3) make it seven straight full seasons with at least 30 wins.
IN BRIEF
Shenandoah began the game with a six run first inning aided by a W&L trio of errors.
Frankie Ritter singled to begin the inning and later scored the first run on an RBI single by
Gavin Horning.
After runs two and three scored on errors,
Ryan Clawson drove in the fourth run on the second Hornets hit on the day with a single through the right side. Ritter added two more runs in the first on his second time up at the plate, bringing
Haden Madagan and Clawson across the plate with a single to left.
Shenandoah added another big inning to its resume with a five-run fourth. The inning began with three straight walks to load the diamond for SU.
Kooper Anderson capitalized on that with a two-RBI single to make it 11-4.

Pearce Bucher double would make it 12-5 in the fifth. Bucher would single in the eighth, scoring Horning, who had an RBI triple one batter prior.
Brian Ferreira (2-0) picked up the win and
Matt House pitched a three inning save retiring all nine batters he faced. The pitching staff struck out six batters, with
Jacob Bell leading the way with four.
Five Hornets had multiple hits and four had at least two RBI.
