WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team celebrated its senior day Saturday with a 27-3 ODAC victory over Randolph.
Shenandoah (10-6, 5-2 ODAC) jumped all over the WildCats (4-11, 0-8) for 10 first quarter goals and led 14-1 when the game was halted midway through the second quarter because of lightning in the area.
IN BRIEF
The delay lasted nearly two hours with the two teams using that time in place of the halftime break.
Twelve different women registered points for Shenandoah with
Reilly Cisar leading the way with 10 points on six goals and four assists.
Graduate student
Emma Stiffler had eight points on three goals and five assists, but it was her assist to a Cisar goal at the 8:00 mark of the second that will stand out. That assist, which made it 14-1 and was the last goal before the weather delay, gave Stiffler a program-record 293 points.
She passes Samantha Sisson '14 for the all-time record and her 129 assists is also a new program record.
Ainsley Buckner added three goals and three assists for six points with
Emily Lerch and
Madison Re both scoring four goals.
SU outshot the 'Cats, 41-7, had a 16-2 edge on groundballs, and won 19 of 31 draws. Cisar led the way in that last category with seven draw controls.
Hornets goalkeeper
Ashley MacFarlane made three saves.
