LEXINGTON, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team dropped a Wednesday night ODAC contest 25-6 at No. 8 Washington & Lee University.
The Hornets (7-9, 4-4 ODAC) had five different goal-scorers in the game against the Generals (13-4, 7-3).
IN BRIEF
The Generals scored the game's first three goals before
Max Myers scored the Hornets first goal with just over five minutes to play in the first quarter.
Matt Daniel picked up SU's second goal just minutes into the second frame.
Shenandoah added a man-up goal in the waning minutes of the third thanks to
Tyler Held getting himself in the scoring column.
In the fourth, after
Logan Clingerman found the back of the net, first-year
Jake Green added the last two goals of the game for the Hornets.
Green led Shenandoah in goals with Hillis Burns leading the way for the Generals with seven.
Stephen Graham tallied two assists for Shenandoah.
Zachary Heiderman, Myers, and Held each picked up an assist as well.
Goalie
Mark Isabelle made a remarkable 29 saves in the game for the Hornets, putting him third all-time for most saves in a game by a SU goalie.
TOURNAMENT BOUND
Despite the loss, Coach
Tim Marshall's squad officially punched its ticket to the upcoming ODAC Tournament thanks to Virginia Wesleyan and Guilford losses to Bridgewater and Lynchburg, respectively. As the seventh-seed, the Hornets will travel to sixth-seeded Bridgewater Sunday morning for an 11 a.m. play-in game.
