BRIDGEWATER, Va. – For the second straight year, the Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team has advanced to the ODAC Tournament quarterfinals thanks to an opening round victory over Bridgewater College.
Sunday, it was all SU (9-9) in a 16-10 victory over the sixth-seeded Eagles (8-8)

Austin Galler's opening faceoff win kick-started the offense, as they moved the ball around quickly to find
Logan Clingerman for the opening goal 13 seconds in.

Up 2-0,
Dylan Pencek forced a turnover on the defensive side and raced coast-to-coast to rip a shot right past the Eagles goalkeeper, making it 3-0 and forcing BC to take an early timeout. After the timeout, each team scored two more goals to cap off the first with SU up 5-2.

With his own shot laying on the ground,
Jake Green pushed the rebound past the Eagles' defense as the ball rolled to the back of the net.

Shenandoah took an 11-4 lead into halftime thanks to three second quarter goals scored by
Tyler Held and two more added Clingerman and
Matt Daniel.

Defense stood strong in the third quarter with both teams only scoring one goal in the 15-minute period.
Taylor Wright got the Hornets goal for his eighth of the season.

SU continued to put it on the Eagles in the fourth with three goals in the first five minutes.
Sam Poster hit the double-digit goal mark in his first-year season to put the Hornets up 14-6 before
Zachary Heiderman added the Hornets next goal minutes later.

As the final seconds ticked down, SU goalie
Mark Isabelle made his 14
th and final save of the contest to confirm the 16-10 win.
