WINCHESTER, Va. – The third-seeded Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team hosts No. 6 Bridgewater College Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in the ODAC quarterfinals.
The playoff meeting will be the first ever women's lacrosse tournament game hosted at the newly constructed Aikens Stadium.
On April 19, the Hornets traveled down to Harrisonburg and defeated the Eagles 22-8 with graduate student
Emma Stiffler scoring eight goals in the contest.
In the mid-April meeting, Shenandoah dropped 12 goals in the first half and outshot the Eagles 35-15, including 17-2 in the second half.
The Eagles advanced to the quarterfinals with a 14-12 first round victory versus the Averett Cougars. With the game tied at 11, BC scored three goals in the final seven minutes of the game, propelling them to the tournament win.
Shenandoah is led offensively by Stiffler,
Ainsley Buckner, and
Reilly Cisar, all of whom have over 50 points this season.
Stiffler is first in both points and assists for the conference with 101 points and 52 assists. She is 17 assists clear of the player with the second most.
Her teammate, Buckner, is fourth in the ODAC in points with 73, constructed of 23 assists and her team-leading 50 goals.
Lauren Roberts leads the Eagles with 59 goals and 72 points in 18 games, all of which were starts.
BC's attacker Aunnie Hacker leads them with 27 assists and currently sits fourth in the ODAC in the category.
The two starting goalies,
Ashley MacFarlane and Rachael Robinson, are each in the top five in saves for the conference.
Shenandoah is 15-8 all-time versus Bridgewater and is currently on a six-game winning streak dating back to April 2018.
The winner of this meeting plays at No. 2 Roanoke College on Friday.
