WINCHESTER, Va. – Third-seeded Shenandoah University opened up its 2023 ODAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament Wednesday evening by jumping all over Bridgewater College in a 19-2 SU victory.

Shenandoah (12-6) advances to Friday's tournament semi-finals at No. 2 Roanoke with the win over sixth-seeded Bridgewater (10-9).

The Hornets, who have now won seven straight, scored the initial 16 goals of the game and never looked back versus the Eagles. Coach
Lindsey Lutz' club scored its first goal at 1:49 in, and poured in nine more before the end of the first.

Ainsley Buckner had three goals in this opening run with
Emily Lerch,
Madison Re, and
Reilly Cisar scoring two times each.
Emma Stiffler, who had the remaining goal, added a pair of assists to help fuel the offense.

Cisar, Lerch, and Re all scored in the second as the hosts took a 13-0 lead into the halftime locker room.

Two Stiffler goals, followed by one from Cisar, increased the advantage to 16-0 before BC ended its scoreless drought with a Jenna Entsminger tally with 52 seconds remaining in the third.

The Hornets scored three of the four fourth quarter goals.

Shenandoah outshot its visitors, 38-10, had a 24-7 edge on groundballs, and won 13 of 25 draws.

Stiffler and Buckner led the victors with four goals and three assists each. Cisar had four goals and two assists for six points.

Ashley MacFarlane made seven saves.
