Crowder and Ruiz Win on Final Day of Indoor Track and Field ODAC Championships

Women place 4th, Men finish 7th

SALEM, Va. - The Shenandoah University indoor track and field program competed in day two of the 2024 ODAC Indoor Track and Field Championships and added two more event winners to its weekend total, which finishes with four overall.

The Hornets' women's team finished the championships in fourth place with 80 team points while the men came in seventh with 44.50 points.

William Crowder took home the men's 60m dash with a time of 6.80 which is 0.01 seconds off of his school record which he set in the prelims on Saturday. Kaitlyn Ruiz, a first-year, won the women's 400m finals finishing with a mark of 59.32.

Janelle Anderson earned third place in the women's 60m dash, crossing the finish line at 8.04 seconds. Sarah Sidoro, Haley Van Voorhis, Mackenzie Plowman, and Kaitlyn Ruiz teamed together to place third in the women's 4x400 relay.

Over at the men's 800 finals, Devin Kohout finished in fourth with a time of 1:57.98 and Noah Hurd came in just under two seconds later for seventh place.

Reginald Patterson III tossed a 14.35m shot put in the men's shot put, which gave him fourth place. In that same event on the women's side, Kiara Felston also finished fourth while Jessica Rendfrey came in eighth.

Kristian Moore was one of five people to hit a 13.50m mark in the men's triple jump as he took home fifth place, earning four points for the men's team.

Shenandoah hosts the NCAA South Region Final Qualifiers this upcoming weekend on Friday and Saturday.
