How It Happened
  • Misericordia scored first on a groundout to shortstop with the runner on third making it home for the 1-0 lead for the Courgars in the top of the first.
  • The score stayed the same until the fifth inning when the Hornets tied the game. Blumenschine stole second, which led to Allison McQueeney driving her in with a single to center.
  • In the bottom of the sixth Makayla Cox reached second on a fielding error by the Courgars' outfield. Kristen Blee came in to pinch run for Cox and Taylor Smith stepped up to the plate as a pinch hitter. Smith wasted no time, lining a ball through the right side of the infield and scoring Blee for the SU lead.
