Hoover Earns Second Team All-America Honors, Places 11th in High Jump

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - On the second day of the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Shenandoah University indoor track and field program had Katya Hoover compete in the women's high jump.

In the women's high jump, Hoover cleared the first height of 1.58m. On the second height, the junior once again cleared the mark on her initial go. She'd be one of 12 participants to clear the 1.63m jump in one attempt.

The high jumper, one of two ODAC participants in the event, placed 11th, tying with three other competitors. The 11th-placed finish earned her second team all-American honors. The second team All-American distinction is the Hornets' third of the weekend with Kiara Felston and William Crowder earning the honor on Friday.

Shenandoah's indoor season has concluded and the program will begin the outdoor season on Thursday at the Shamrock Invitational in Conroy, South Carolina.
