Women's Tennis Stings Yellow Jackets in Win

Box Score ASHLAND, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's tennis team won a Saturday afternoon ODAC contest at Randolph-Macon by the score of 7-2.

The Hornets (10-6, 8-2 ODAC) earned its sixth consecutive ODAC win with the victory over the Yellow Jackets (9-4, 6-3 ODAC). SU is now 3-2 in its last five meetings with R-MC.

All three doubles matches were won by the Hornets. The most exciting of which was an 8-7 win for Allison Cherwein and Ariella Stepleman. The duo went to a tiebreaker and won the set 7-3.

Erin Talko and Emily Hatseras doubled up their opponents in an 8-4 win while Tanea Spruill and Olivia Guzzo won 8-2, for the easiest win in doubles on the day.

Guzzo got the win in singles on court two, 6-4, 6-2. SU then took the wins on courts four through six.

On court four it was Hatseras winning 6-2, 6-3. Cherwein saw a 6-1, 6-3 win on court five, as Talko won 6-1, 6-2 on the final court.
