RECAP

• The Hornets got off to a hot start with the game's first six goals. Kate Vendemia kickstarted the scoring streak with Emily Lerch scoring less than a minute later. Vendemia tallied another quick SU goal to make it 3-0.
• A failed clear by Cabrini led to Shenandoah's fourth goal of the afternoon coming from the stick of Amy Bell with Alex Ripkin gaining the assist. The goal forced Cabrini to call a timeout and on the ensuing draw, Ainsley Buckner won it and she ran down the field to get the Hornets' fifth consecutive goal. Bell went back to scoring after another Cavaliers turnover to make it 6-0.
• Cabrini scored two goals toward the latter of the first but Buckner tallied her second goal of the contest in between the two goals from the Cavaliers.
• In the second quarter, Cabrini scored two twice to start the quarter and SU put a quick stop to that with Cameryn Bowker scoring for the third time this season. Across the next 90 seconds, Bowker went into the assist column, assisting on two goals from Bell. The Cavaliers then scored three quick goals to make it a 10-7 game in favor of SU. Shenandoah took a 12-8 lead into the half with Sofia Albi scoring twice in the final five minutes of the half.
• In the third, scoring was at a minimum as the two teams combined for just three goals. Cabrini scored twice and the lone SU goal came from Buckner.
• In the fourth, Shenandoah scored first with the goal coming from an unusual goal score.  It was defender Julianna Fohner who found the back of the net for the Hornets. Fohner made a nice cut toward the net and received a pass from Buckner before burying the ball past the Cavaliers. The goal marked the third of her career and first of the season.
• Vendemia and Buckner capped off the high-scoring game, each adding a goal in the fourth.
• The teams each had 30 shots in the game with SU goalie, Madison Perry, making 13 saves in her ninth win of the season.
• SU went 19-23 on clear attempts and had a 17-14 advantage on draw controls. Buckner led SU with five draw control wins and Nicole Graham had a team-high four ground balls.
