HOW IT HAPPENED

• Less than a minute into the game, it was a pair of SU seniors connecting for the opening goal. Gabriella Raspanti was camped below the net and found a cutting Ainsley Buckner, who fired the shot to the back of the net, making it 1-0 SU. After Ferrum failed to get a shot off before the possession clock expired, Madison Re split through the Panther defense to make it 2-0 SU. Moments later Emily Lerch had made it a three-goal game with Raspanti getting off a tough shot to make it 4-0 in favor of the Hornets.
• Kate Vendemia, who sat behind the net, passed the ball to an open Amy Bell, with Bell getting an easy look at the net for the Hornets' fifth goal. The duo connected minutes later to make it 6-0. In transition, Raspanti connected with Sofia Albi as the Hornets made it 7-0 at the end of the first.
• 55 seconds into the second quarter Alex Ripkin ran through three Ferrum defenders and got off a shot right in front of the goal to put SU on the board in the second. Ferrum gained a free-position shot, but Madison Perry shut down the Panthers' opportunity and Sarah Karlinchak made the most of Perry's save, as she ran down the field to get another Shenandoah goal. Shenandoah made it 10-0 with Bell passing the rock to Ciera Overley, which pulled the Panthers' goalie out of place, and Overley found Re, with Re having a wide-open net to shoot at. Elizabeth Szell and Haley Sullivan made it 12-0 for the Hornets at the half.
• The third quarter began with Lerch taking the ball toward the net and firing off a five-hole goal to put SU up by 13 early in the second half. The middle of the quarter was the Re show, with the graduate student getting three consecutive goals, making it 16-0. Buckner picked up two assists on Re's first two goals of the quarter. Raspanti took a page out of Re's book and scored the next three SU goals to put them up by 19. Lerch assisted on the middle goal by Raspanti. In the middle of the fourth quarter, Buckner picked up an unassisted goal to make it 20-0. Karlinchak got her second goal of the afternoon, putting SU up 21-0 with a five-hole goal. Raspanti capped off senior day with a last-second goal to give SU the 22-0 win.
• This is the third straight game that Shenandoah has won by 20 or more. During that span, the Hornets have outscored opponents 66-5.
• The four SU seniors combined for 14 points with nine other players picking up a point as well.
• Re and Raspanti led all players with five goals and four other Hornets had at least two goals. Raspanti led the bunch with seven total points. Vendemia, Buckner, and Raspanti led the Hornets with two assists.
