Women's Soccer Picked Fifth in ODAC Preseason Poll

FOREST, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's soccer team was picked fifth in the 2026 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Preseason Poll on Wednesday afternoon, marking its highest ranking since 2017.

The Hornets received 103 points in the rankings, which are voted on by the coaches in the conference. Washington and Lee University sits atop the poll with 12 first-place votes and 144 points. Batten University, Bridgewater College, and the University of Lynchburg are the three other teams in front of SU.

Shenandoah went 8-2 last year in the ODAC and was the three seed heading into the ODAC Tournament. As the three seed, they hosted Roanoke College in the first round, which ended as a 2-1 win for the Hornets.

McKenna Newcome, Lauren Duffy, Kaitlyn Wahl, and Emily Soos all return to the Hornets this year, after earning All-ODAC accolades in 2025.

The season begins on September 1 with a non-conference match at home versus Marymount.
