FOREST, Va. - Sophomore Ellis Wright was named ODAC Offensive Player of the Week for men's basketball on Monday following a 2-0 week for Shenandoah University, where the forward averaged 30.5 points per game.

Wright started off the week with a 26-point outing at home against St. Mary's College (Md.). The forward shot 83.3 percent from the field and 60 percent from long range.

On Wednesday, in a 74-61 win at Messiah, Wright scored 35 points, which is the most points by a Hornet since Jaylen Williams in 2021. The sophomore made 13 field goals, including seven threes. He also added four rebounds in the game, bringing his week total to seven.

Wright became the first Hornet to score 26 points in consecutive games since Williams in 2021. He is also the first Hornet since Joshua Stephen last season to earn a weekly ODAC award.

The Hornets are in action tonight at home at 6 p.m. versus Penn State Schuylkill. They're also at home tomorrow at 5 p.m. against Lancaster Bible College.
