GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) is proud to announce that nearly 750 member high school and college programs nationwide have earned the 2024–25 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack. This prestigious award recognizes programs from all levels of high school and collegiate baseball that achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2024–25 academic year.
This year, 440 college programs and nearly 300 high school programs were honored for their outstanding academic achievement.
For the ninth consecutive year, Shenandoah University Baseball earned the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award. The Hornets posted a 3.38 team GPA for the 2024–25 academic year, with 12 student-athletes recording a perfect 4.0 GPA and 33 earning a 3.5 GPA or higher during the spring semester.
Shenandoah is one of only two Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) schools to receive the honor this year, joining Washington and Lee University.
The ABCA has a long-standing tradition of recognizing the accomplishments of baseball coaches and student-athletes. Its awards program includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams—the nation's oldest, founded in 1949—along with the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, the ABCA/ATEC Regional and National Coaches of the Year, and additional honors such as the ABCA Hall of Fame and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
