Women's Volleyball Selected 11th in ODAC Preseason Poll

FOREST, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's volleyball team was selected 11th in the 2025 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) preseason poll on Tuesday afternoon, as announced by the league office.

The Hornets, coming off a 13-win season, are being led by first-year head coach Travis Abele. Abele was hired in January to lead the Hornets. SU also added Carmen Wright as a full-time assistant coach in August.

Washington and Lee University tops the preseason poll with 11 first-place votes and 121 points. Virginia Wesleyan University and Bridgewater College rank second and third respectively.

The University of Lynchburg ranks fourth and received the final first-place vote. Randolph-Macon College, Roanoke College, and Averett University round out the top seven.

Guilford College, Eastern Mennonite University, and Randolph College are the three teams in front of SU, with the Hornets earning 35 points. Hollins University rounds out the rankings in 12th place and 11 points.

Shenandoah returns 14 players from last year's team while welcoming seven newcomers.

The season starts this Friday and Saturday at the Battlefield Classic hosted by Gettysburg College.
