Men Place Second, Women Fourth at Home Twilight Meet

WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University cross country teams hosted their first home meet of the 2025 season Friday evening at the SU Twilight Open at Kernstown Battlefield.

The Hornet women finished fourth overall with 60 points, just two spots off the team title in a tightly contested 5k.

Kailey Lamont paced SU with a fourth-place finish in 19:30.5. Maddy Chorney was close behind in seventh at 19:55.8, while Emilie Gaudron crossed in 12th with a time of 20:41.8. Rounding out the Hornets' scoring five were Grace Semow in 17th at 21:15.3 and Emily Bultema, who finished 20th with a time of 21:35.3.

On the men's side, in a 6k, Shenandoah matched VMI with 68 points but secured second place via tiebreaker behind champion Dickinson.

Zack Hamacher led the Hornets with a 14th-place finish in 21:11.5, followed in a tight pack by Brayden Shotwell (12th / 21:16.9), Will Ashley (13th / 21:17.8), and Kyle Corpin (14th / 21:20.6). Corey Christensen sealed the team score in 18th at 21:39.4.
