Cross Country Hosts 16th Annual Hornet Harrier

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University cross country programs hosted the 2025 Hornet Harrier and Commonwealth Challenge on Saturday morning at Kernstown Battlefield. The women and men both competed in the opening race of the day, the 3k.

On the women's side for SU, Kailey Lamont finished first at 10:51.8, with Maddy Chorney coming in second with a time of 11:27.2. Emily Bultema finished the race a second after Chorney, and Emilie Gaudron quickly followed at 11:29.2.

In fifth place was Amy Oleksy with a showing of 11:30.5. Only 3.2 seconds separated second and fifth place for the Hornets. Grace Semow and Emma Madrigal rounded out the scoring order with times of 11:36.7 and 11:47.1, respectively.

The SU men finished the 3k with an average time of 9:15 as Zack Hamacher crossed the line first at 9:03. Brayden Shotwell came in at 9:07.1, while Kyle Corpin placed third 7.1 seconds later.

Will Ashley and Nathan Lee rounded out the top five, both finishing in under 9:27. Caleb Beiswenger scored sixth for Shenandoah at 9:33.6, and Corey Christensen wrapped up the event in seventh with a mark of 9:34.7.

Shenandoah heads to Lehigh next weekend for the Paul Short Invitational on Friday.
