Maniacci Sits Fifth after Day One of Kinder-Williams Invitational

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's golf "B" and "C" teams competed Monday in the opening round of the Kinder-Williams Invitational hosted by Bridgewater College.

Louie Maniacci paced the Hornets' "B" squad with a 3-under-par 69, good for fifth place after day one.

As a team, Shenandoah's "B" side sits eighth with a 300 (+12), while the "C" team is tied for 11th at 309 (+21). Host Bridgewater leads the 16-team field at even-par 288.

Maniacci started his round with a birdie on hole one and added two more on the front nine. On the back, he parred his first three holes before converting consecutive birdies on 13 and 14 and closing with another on the par-three 17th.

Dan Ailor contributed a 75 (+3) for the "B" team with a birdie on hole seven and a streak of pars from holes eight through 17. Both Will McClintock and Mason DuHaime carded 78s (+6); DuHaime recorded three birdies, while McClintock tallied one on hole 11. Maddox Mallard rounded out the lineup with an 80 (+8).

On the "C" team, Seth Curry led the way with a 75 (+3), playing the back nine at even-par with three birdies. Brian Slaughter followed closely with a 76 (+4), highlighted by back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17.

Harrison Carter shot a 77 (+5), picking up birdies on holes six and 17, while Connor Reinhard posted an 81 (+9) with two birdies on the day. Will Gronlund completed the Hornets' scoring with an 83 (+11).

UP NEXT

Both squads return to the course on Tuesday for the final round of the invitational.
