RECAP

After allowing the first point of the evening, SU bounced back and flew out to an 11-2 lead. Hannah Hylton had two aces during the run while SU had two blocks. However, Hood rallied back and tied the set at 21. A Hylton kill and an error by the Blazers made it 23-21 in favor of SU, with Hood once again able to tie the set, 23-23. Fortunately for the Hornets, another kill by Hylton and another attack error by the home team gave SU the first set win.

A 5-0 run gave Hood the second set, 25-23, after SU led late in the frame, 23-20. The Blazers opened the third set with a 2-0 lead with the Hornets grabbing the lead, 5-3, off service aces from Hylton and Autumn Stroop. The teams stayed close to each other as Hood reclaimed the lead, 15-12.

Trailing by three, SU bounced back with an 12-2 run, to jump out to a seven point lead. Shenandoah needed just one point to end the set, but the Blazers didn't go away quietly and made it a three-point set, trailing 21-24. The Hornets stopped the Blazers there and ended the frame, 25-21, off a kill from Kamryn Keasey.

Leading 2-1 in the match, Shenandoah jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the fourth but Hood quickly came back and cut the Hornets lead to one. Behind two team blocks and two kills from Alana Washington, SU quickly were infront 13-5. The Hornets ended the match with a 3-0 run thanks to another ace by Stroop and a solo block from Keasey.

Shenandoah had 22 block assists, with Ashlynn Spence leading the team with eight. The 22 block assists is tied for second-most in a single match since 2009. The team also had two solo blocks, which brought theirs total to 13 blocks in the match, which is the most for the team since 2019.

Hylton led the Hornets offensivley with 15 kills and 19.5 points. Amanda Ingrassia added a team-high 22 assists.
