Men's Golf and Ailor Lead Stateline Shootout after First Round

Harrison Oh. - Senior Dan Ailor and the Shenandoah University men's golf team lead the entire field after the first round of the Stateline Shootout. Ailor scored a 71 (-1) for the first round, with the entire team sitting at 295 (+7).

Ailor and the Hornets started on the back nine on Saturday, with the senior landing two birdies on his first nine holes, but saw himself at one-over par. Birdies on holes three and six helped Ailor climb the leaderboard and get to one-under.

Three birdies by Ben Gray helped him score a 34 (-2) on the first nine holes of the day, but he ended the round with a 73 (+1).

Braden Hermansky (75, +3) and Price Whitaker (76, +4) rounded out the team scoring for SU, each landing two birdies throughout the day.

Caden Sherman earned a 79 (+7) with birdies on consecutive holes at 11 and 12.

Conor McCarthy, playing as an individual, is in fourth place overall with a 72 (E). The first year had a pair of birdies on par-five holes and added two more at holes two and four.

David Hutchins and Harrison Carter, also playing as individuals, carded a 76 (+4) and 78 (+6), respectively.

UP NEXT

The Hornets look to stay atop the leaderboard tomorrow with the final round of the shootout.
