Men's Golf Wins Stateline Shootout

HARRISON, Ohio - The Shenandoah University men's golf team won the Stateline Shootout by 15 strokes, shooting a two-round total of 591 (+15). The Hornets had three players inside the top five on the individual leaderboard.

Ben Gray had the best finish of the weekend for SU, finishing the tournament with a 145 (+1) with a 72 (E) on Sunday. Gray finished Sunday with five birdies, with four landing on the back nine. Individual player Conor McCarthy also ended the shootout with a 145 (+1), after a 73 (+1) during the second round with two birdies.

Dan Ailor scored a 75 (+3) on Sunday to finish the tournament one stroke behind Gray and McCarthy for fifth place.

Caden Sherman was the only Hornet below par on Sunday with a 71 (-1). Sherman carded six birdies for the second round to finish at 150 (+6). Braden Hermansky finished with a 153 (+9) for 17th place, while Harrison Carter rounded out the Hornets in the top 20 with a 154 (+10).

Davis Hutchins had 11 pars to round out the tournament, one spot behind Carter. Price Whitaker closed out the weekend for the Hornets with a 157 (+13) after a three-birdie performance on Sunday.

UP NEXT

The Shenandoah 'B' and 'C' teams host the SU Fall Invite tomorrow at the Winchester Country Club. The teams tee off at 9 a.m. and are set to play 36 holes.
