Box Score HILTON HEAD, SC - Shenandoah Women's Tennis claimed its first victory of the season with a 7-0 sweep of Buena Vista at the PTR Spring Tennis Fest in Hilton Head, SC. The Hornets (1-4) took all three doubles matches over the Beavers (1-15).

Doubles Recap
Atlee Hilliard and Olivia Gizzo got the party started with a 6-1 doubles victory over Higgins/Weller of BVU.

Samantha Calvert and Erin Talko also took a decisive 6-2 victory over Fritz/Onstot of BVU at #2 doubles.

Leigha Montrief and Kendra Gillette rounded out the doubles session with a sweeping 6-0 win over Gomez/Cook of SVU at #3 doubles.

Singles Recap
Atlee Hilliard controlled the pace against Hannah Higgins at #1 singles, winning her match 6-1, 6-2.

Erin Talko was moved up to the #2 spot. After a set 1 tiebreak, she would claim the match over Taylor Fritz 7-6 (8-6), 6-2.

Samantha Calvert swept through her #3 singles match over Abby Meseck, winning 6-0, 6-0.

Kendra Gillette had the closest overall singles match at #4, winning a back-and-forth match against Macy Weller, 6-4, 7-5.

Leigha Montrief also dominated at #5, winning in straight sets over Charlie Rayford, 6-2, 6-1.

Madison Shawver rounded out the day for the Hornets at #6, winning her match over Fiona Astleford 6-1, 6-4.

The Hornets take a day to rest up before squaring off with NAIA Lawrence Tech (MI) at 1pm.
