Ailor Secures ODAC Golfer of the Week Honors

FOREST, Va. - Senior Dan Ailor was named ODAC Golfer of the Week on Wednesday after leading the Shenandoah University men's golf team to a victory at the Fernandina Beach Collegiate in Florida.

Ailor earns his second career Golfer of the Week honor, after getting the weekly award early in the 2023-24 season. This week, the senior went 70-72-69 in three rounds with the 69 in round three, tying a career low. Ailor tied for second in the 78-golfer field with his 211.

The Hornets won the tournament with an 858, helped out by a 280 (-8) for the final round on Tuesday. SU entered Tuesday in third and improved six strokes from its second round performance. This is the second time in 2025-26 that Shenandoah has won a tournament.

Ailor made 13 birdies, 31 pars, and an eagle in his outing. The eagle came on hole two, in round two, on the 490-yard, par-five hole. In round three, he made six birdies, with three on each end of the course.

Shenandoah is now ranked inside the top-50 of Division III teams according to Clippd, while Ailor moved up 47 spots in individual rankings with his performance in Florida.

Ailor and the Hornets are back on the course next week at the Jekyll Island Invitational at the Pine Lakes Golf Course. The first round starts on Friday, March 20.
