Men's Golf Tied for Fifth Following 36 Holes at Port City Classic

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Following two rounds of play at the Port City Classic, the Shenandoah University men's golf team is tied for fifth following 36 holes of action on Monday at the Savannah Country Club. The Hornets have a two-round total of 604 (+36) following a 302 (+18) team score in each round.

Dan Ailor leads the Hornets and is tied for second overall with a 145 (+3). Ailor went two under par in his first go around the course, with three birdies and 14 pars. The senior then finished the day with a five-over par during his second round.

Braden Hermansky is tied for 11th at 147 (+5). Hermansky shot even in round one with four birdies and then went five over in the second round. The first-year played bogey-free golf on his final six holes of play.

Ben Gray carded a 79 (+8) in the first round and a 76 (+5) in the second, for a 155 (+13) after the first day of competition. Gray birdied holes 12 and 14 in each round, plus adding an additional birdie on hole four on his second attempt.

Will McClintock is four strokes behind Gray with a 159 (+17). Following an 85 (+14) in the first, he improved his total with a 74 (+3) in the second round. His second round was aided by a streak of eight pars or better to begin the round.

Brian Slaughter closed out the day for the Hornets with a 167 (+25). The sophomore scored an 83 (+12) for the first 18 holes and rounded out with an 84 (+13) for the next 18.

Shenandoah concludes its time at the Port City Classic with the third and final round tomorrow.
