Men's Lacrosse Falls at Home to Randolph-Macon

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team hosted Randolph-Macon College on Saturday afternoon and lost 18-7 in an ODAC game.

Cody Griffis scored four goals for the Hornets (2-7, 0-2 ODAC), while the Yellow Jackets (7-2, 1-1) used a seven-goal first quarter to help them to the win.

RECAP

Randolph-Macon began the game with four goals in the first five minutes, before Cody Griffis put Shenandoah on the board with 9:28 left in the first quarter. RMC ended the frame on a 3-0 run, including two goals in the final minute.

Two quick goals in the second pushed the Yellow Jackets' lead to eight, prior to Griffis scoring his second on an assist from Liam Arnsmeyer. The duo connected again seven minutes later for SU's third goal of the afternoon, following a pair of tallies by the visitors. The Yellow Jackets entered the second half up 12-3.

Ryan Feldman made two saves at the start of the third, which allowed the Hornets to open the second half scoring on a goal from Ryan Ho, assisted by Luke Petrie. The Yellow Jackets then scored four goals in less than three minutes, before adding another one near the end of the quarter for a 17-4 advantage.

Nearly six minutes into the fourth, Griffis added his final goal of the game. Petrie gave Shenandoah its second straight goal two minutes after Griffis' strike. The Yellow Jackets added one more goal, but it was Kennedy Duda scoring the final overall goal of the day while the Hornets were a man down.

Shenandoah plays at Bridgewater this Wednesday in a 7 p.m. ODAC game.
