Men's Lacrosse Downed by Penn College on the Road

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team was defeated 16-1 on the road at Penn College on Friday in non-conference competition.

Cody Griffis scored the lone goal of the day for the Hornets (2-4), while the Wildcats (5-1) scored six goals in the first quarter to pull away from SU early.

RECAP

Penn College scored its first goal roughly two minutes into the game and held a 5-0 lead 10 minutes in. The Wildcats scored its final goal of the quarter with 3:55 remaining in the first.

The hosts went on to score four goals in the second quarter prior to Cody Griffis putting the Hornets on the board just before the opening half expired. The Wildcats outscored SU 6-0 in the final two frames.

Goalie Jack Dwyer made 11 saves and earned a team-high five ground balls. Dwyer surpassed 100 career saves in the contest. Ryan Feldman and Sean Catalano also saw time in net for the Hornets, with Feldman making an additional save.

UP NEXT

Shenandoah is home on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. non-conference tilt with Westminster.
