Rieg Earns ODAC Player of the Week Honors

FOREST, Va. - The Shenandoah University softball team earned its second ODAC Player of the Week award, with Cadence Rieg earning this week's conference award for week eight.

The Hornets' outfielder went 12-18 at the plate for a .667 batting average, with an on-base percentage of .760, helped out by seven walks. The junior drove in seven runs, with six doubles, and a stolen base.

Rieg posted four multi-hit games with three hits in each of the two games versus Mary Washington and two hits in each of the games at Lynchburg. Additionally, Rieg scored a run in five of the six games this week.

Her week was highlighted by a game-tying double in the seventh inning of game two at Lynchburg. Later in the inning, Rieg came around to score the eventual game-winning run to help sweep LYN.

Shenandoah is currently on a nine-game winning streak and is home this Wednesday for a doubleheader versus Bridgewater. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
