Women's Lacrosse Wins on Senior Day

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team celebrated its 2026 senior day with a 20-0 win at home over Sweet Briar College on Saturday afternoon in three quarters.

The Hornets (10-6, 5-2 ODAC) were led by hat tricks from Emily Ransom and Brinley Tozer in the dominating conference win over the Vixen (0-13, 0-7).

RECAP

Emily Ransom scored the first goal of the game and by the halfway mark of the first had already scored a hat trick. Before Ransom's third goal of the game, Ayla Jantz, Sofia Albi, and Acadia Massie had each scored, helping get SU a 6-0 lead.

In the latter half of the first, SU scored five more goals, including Brinley Tozer scoring her first goal of the season. Cecelia Rock, Keira Choi, and Jantz scored in the final six minutes of the quarter to give SU a 10-0 lead.

Ransom and Tozer, along with Alex Ripkin found the back of the net for SU's first three goals of the second. Then, with Tozer's third goal of the game, along with tallies from Jordan Smith and Grace Thornhill, the Hornets led 16-0 at the half.

Sarah Karlinchak rounded out the scoring for the Hornets with the team's 20th goal of the day in the third, as Massie, Rock, and Ransom each scored again.

Natalie Opatovsky had a five point game, racking up five assists. Cameryn Bowker joined Opatovsky with a multi-assist afternoon.

Ripken had the team high in draw controls with seven.

UP NEXT

The Hornets round out their regular season this Wednesday with a showdown at Roanoke College. The ODAC contest starts at 7 p.m.
