Men's Lacrosse Defeated by No. 16 Generals

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team was defeated by No. 16 Washington and Lee University at home on Tuesday night, 26-4, in an ODAC game.

The Hornets (4-10, 2-4 ODAC) grabbed the lead first, but the Generals (9-5, 6-1) scored 16 unanswered goals to grab control of the game. Liam Arnsmeyer and Cody Griffis each led the Hornets with two-point nights.

RECAP

After the Generals won the opening draw, the Hornets picked up a caused turnover from Kennedy Duda, which led to Cody Griffis scoring to put SU up 1-0 on an assist from Sam Poster. Duda finished the night with four caused turnovers and four groundballs.

Late in the second quarter, with the Generals up 16-1, Liam Arnsmeyer recorded his first assist of the night on a Noah Nolt goal, which stopped the Generals' run. Just over a minute later, Arnsmeyer was back in the assist column on a tally from Jordan Rogers. Washington and Lee led 18-3 at halftime.

Each team scored once in the third, with Shenandoah finding the back of the net first in the second half on Griffis' second goal of the game, which was assisted by Luke Petrie. The Generals ended the game on an 8-0 run.

Hunter Snow matched Duda with a team-high four groundballs. Braxton Snead and Brody McClure each won four faceoffs.
