Spence Attacks Her Way to ODAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

FOREST, Va. - Shenandoah University's Ashlynn Spence was named ODAC women's volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Monday by the league's office, after SU went 3-1 in four matches.

The junior had 55 kills, three aces, and 71.0 total points, along with 19 total blocks in the four games this past week.

Spence's week started out in a five-set match at Randolph-Macon College, where the middle hitter had 11 kills, a pair of aces, and six total blocks. She followed that up with 14 kills, an ace, and four blocks at Averett University on Friday.

Then, on Saturday at a tri-match hosted by Guilford College, Spence had 30 kills and nine more blocks in a pair of wins over the Quakers and Carolina University. Against Carolina, she matched her career-high for kills with 19.

Across the four matches, Spence accumulated an attacking percentage of .455.

The Hornets enter this week with a 7-5, 1-2 ODAC record and play Eastern Mennonite University at home on Wednesday evening.
