GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Shenandoah University men's basketball team was held to just eight field goals in the second half of its Dixie Conference contest Saturday afternoon as Greensboro College pulled away with a 74-50 win.

Shenandoah (12-11, 5-8 Dixie) is now faced with a must win situation in its season finale Sunday afternoon at Methodist in order to secure the No. 4 seed at next week's Dixie Conference Tournament. If SU loses tomorrow in Fayetteville, the Hornets could fall all the way to the No. 6 seed and would have to play likely No. 3 seed NC Wesleyan.

Greensboro (9-14, 6-8) likely secured the No. 4 spot by holding the Hornets scoreless for the first 3:30 of the second half and turned an 18-16 contest into a fifteen point bulge.

Shenandoah missed its first 14 free throws of the contest, including an 0 for 11 performance in the first half, to make matters worse. They ended up making 16 of 36 free throws (44.4 percent) from the line for the game.

SU was never able to get untracked in the final 20 minutes; GC continued to expand its lead until the both coaches emptied their respective benches in the final two minutes.

For the second time this season, SU did not have a player in double figures. Senior Tyson Thompson (Keysville, Va./Randolph-Henry) led with eight points.

All five GC starters hit in double figures; Terris Sifford led with 15.
