BUENA VISTA, Va. E Shenandoah University turned in the biggest comeback of the
Robert Harris era Friday night with a 64-56 non-conference menís basketball victory over host Southern Virginia.
Shenandoah (2-2) trailed 37-24 at the break and as many as 17 points in the first half before roaring back against the Knights (7-9).
Southern Virginia used a sizzling shooting performance in the first half to take that 37-24 lead into the halftime lockerroom E SVU shot an even 50 percent from the field (11 for 22) and made 6 of 9 attempts from behind the arc to open up the double digit margin. Conversely, SU was an ice cold 8 for 37 (21.6 percent) from the field.
The Hornets were able to only trail by the 13 points thanks to a 19-16 advantage on the boards; they also held the Knights without an offensive rebound in the first 20 minutes.
Then it changed 180 degrees.
Southern Virginia shot just 6 for 26 (23.1 percent) after the break as they scored only 19 points. After making six three-pointers in the first, they made two in the second and also missed six of 11 attempts from the free throw line.
Shenandoah continued its dominance on the boards, pulling down 27 to its opponents 10, and made 16 of 37 of its attempts to complete the big comeback.

Onyie Onunaku u and junior
Jeremiah Lawrence, the teamís two pre-season All-Americans, did most of the damage with 17 and 16 points, respectively. Onunaku added 14 rebounds and seven steals while classmate
Moutkar Fawehinmi had a career-high 15 rebounds and six steals.
Cameron Gentry had 17 for the hosts.
