WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's tennis team opened up its 2022 spring season Saturday afternoon with a 5-4 ODAC loss to the University of Lynchburg.

Undefeated Lynchburg (5-0, 3-0 ODAC) took a 2-1 lead after doubles and then held on versus the Hornets (2-2, 0-1).

Natalia García Molina and
Jahveesha Combs accounted for three of the hosts four wins.

The duo combined for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles before both winning in singles.

García Molina was a 6-4, 6-3 winner at No. 1 and Combs 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2.

Those two victories briefly gave SU the lead in the match. Lynchburg then went on to clinch the victory by winning in straight sets at Nos. 3 through 5.

Kelly Hudak, playing at No. 6, closed out the contest with a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
