WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's tennis team ran its winning streak to four matches Tuesday with a 9-0 ODAC victory over Roanoke.
Shenandoah (7-3, 5-1 ODAC) won by shutout for the third consecutive match with its win over Roanoke (7-10, 3-5).
IN BRIEF
The Hornets swept the doubles with an 8-2 win at No. 1, 8-6 at No. 2 and 8-0 at No. 3.
Natalia García Molina and
Jahveesha Combs had the win at No. 1,
Ariella Stepleman and
Lily Kimble at No. 2, and Alison Cherwien/
Jada Lewis at No. 3.
Five of those six women earned a second victory of the afternoon during singles play.
Kelly Hudak, playing No. 6, replaced Lewis in the lineup and won at love in that match.
García Molina was a 6-1, 6-0 victor at No. 1 with Combs winning 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2.
Stepleman matched
García Molina, winning 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 while Kimble was a 6-4, 6-0 winner at No. 4.
The closest match came at No. 5, where Cherwien emerged with a 6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8) triumph.
